Olivia's new shoes

Yesterday we were shopping in Santa Fe, and Olivia's cute brown mary janes kept falling off. They were getting a bit small anyway, so I got her some tennis shoes. She was so excited, especially when I told her that they would make her run extra fast, and jump super high! Last night she took them off on her own, and this morning she spent about 20 minutes trying to tie them! I finally interceded and tied them for her, but she watched every single turn of my hands.

Enjoy!

Big bath bubble fun.

Since we've moved into our new home, we've only used the big bathtub a few times. Today the girls figured out that if you add a little bubble bath and turn on the jets, it makes lots and lots and lots of bubbles.
Sophie buried in the bubbles.

Not sure, but I think we were going for a lion's mane.

Olivia's 2nd B-day party.

Olivia turned two this weekend. She had a grand party, almost 50 people stopped buy. I think it helped that everyone wanted to see our new house! Unlike my sister, I am not lazy and I am updating my blog:
Blow out the candles!

Eat some cake. Yum.

PJ Pictures

Last night Sophie and Olivia were quietly reading their bedtime stories to each other. They looked so precious. Olivia realized that I had the camera out, so she started hamming it up. Sophie quickly joined in on the fun. I was asking them if they really cleaned up in the bath or if their feet were stinky. (I think they passed the test!) And the last one is blowing raspberries.

Our kitchen

After spending months pouring over possible designs for our kitchen, and even getting a black eye in the process of installing it, I am reaping the benefits. I love our kitchen. It came out just right, and I think it looks an awful lot like I thought it would. I can't wait to have our house warming party so that I can put both ovens to good use. We're still working on picking the right backsplash, but I think we've decided. Just another project in the long list.

An oldie but a goodie.

Just cleaning up old files, and I found this.

Sophie's Triathalon

Sophie finished 5th overall for her age group and first for the 7year old girls! She also got the fastest swim time. I asked her if she wanted to do it again next year, and it seems to be a tradition. Hopefully Matt and I will get our act together for next year too.

LA county fair

This year Sophie entered some of her artwork for the county fair. She got a first and second place! Her mobile is melted crayons and the tree is acrylics.

Welcome to high speed internet....

Waiting for her triathalon...I'll post the results in a blog...

Before the county fair parade.

I think Olivia was buying hamburgers from Sophie. I don't know why she was wearing goggles.

first day in our new house

Finally I feel connected to the 21st century again. I can't do much surfing at work, and today (for my birthday) we got internet whoo hoo! I'll start posting furiously.

Review of HP&THBP

Last night Matt and I saw Harry Potter "6". It's a good thing book seven will be split into two movies, because it's tough to get 600+ pages of a story into 2 and a half hours. The movie felt rushed. Much of the "fluff" was taken out, but I found myself wanting more. On the plus side, the acting was much better. All of the kids did a great job, and I even warmed to Dumbledore's character toward the end of the movie. The lighthearted moments outweighed the dark undertones of the book. But, I still won't be taking Sophie to it. Overall, it is a fun show, and defiantly entertaining. If you are a HP fan, it's worth the price of a movie ticket.

4th of July Parade

Olivia's ready to go. (Thank goodness there is a parent handle.)
My little shinning star.

Along the parade route. This year we went in the opposite direction.

Post parade. I love the height difference.

General Olivia goofiness.

Olivia's can tower. Please note that the smallest can is on the bottom...what skill. I think she'll be an architect.

Um...I don't know how to explain this. She did use the potty but got stuck in the seat in the process.

Olivia's Stiches

Two days later...the day before the stiches came out.

These two are from the night we came home from the hospital. I figured a quick bath would help relax her from the trauma of being bound and laid upon by her mommy for half an hour!

Most of you know that about a month ago, Olivia had to get 8 stitches above her left eye. She fell off Mom's hearth and split her eyebrow. Pretty much every other person I know has a similar injury. She was a trooper, and screamed throughout the entire stitching procedure. The nurses wrapped her in a blanket like a mummy and then I laid on top of her. The nurse held her head still while the doctor stitched her up. He was quick! She did get a black eye, but I managed to only get blurry pictures of her with her boxer look.

Sophie's Birthday

Oops, talk about belated. Sophie's birthday was a little subdued this year, but she had a great time none the less. We ate her dinner at Mom & Dads (on Easter Sunday) and were able to celebrate with Aunt Sophie and Uncle Albert too.
Sitting in front of her loot, check out her grin.

Her ipod.

Opening Josephina

I'm not sure what she was thinking. She loves her Josephina doll andwon't let Olivia touch it. However shooting her in the head with the toy gun set Grandpa gave her is still fun. I love my kids!

Caution: potty nudity

So, I'm trying to update.... Here are some odd photos of our funny, wild, and intensely dramatic youngest child. Olivia is a pip in every sense of the word. She'll test every limit twenty times, then when you think you want to kill her, she'll grin her I'll get out of anything with this look grin and then hug and kiss you and say "I yuv yoo." ARGH!

Mid bath potty stop.

Check out her guns. This is what she does before launching down the slide.
