Post Just For Terri
While in DC we came across the Hirshhorn Museum that housed art. The art inside was way too modern for my taste, but outside they had some spider sculptures. So Ter, here you go! My favorite part is the sign that says do not touch sculpture, yet Matt is clearly resting his arms on the one outside of the building.

Washington DC
Matt and I are visiting our Nation's capital this week. Matt is here for work, and I got to tag along and play tourist. So far I've done a LOT of walking. Our hotel is only about eight blocks from the National Mall, and I've spent most of my alone time there. Yesterday evening Matt and I went to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, and the Air and Space Museum. I had been to the Air & Space Mu. as a kid, but as an adult I appreciate it so much more. They had some actual Gemini and Apollo space crafts on display. it was amazing seeing how small the capsule was. And to look at the bottom heat shield, you appreciate what it must have been like for the first astronauts. WE also got to see The Wright's airplane...important but not as cool. This morning I accompanied Matt and the rest of the NM contingent to a breakfast at the Capitol building. We met Martin Heinirich and Ben Lujan. It's not as cool as you'd think meeting congressmen. Our senators were to busy to meet with use, but they sent some staffers too the breakfast too. Matt gets this afternoon off and I think we're planning on heading to the White House and the Lincoln, Jefferson, WWII, and Vietnam Memorials this afternoon. We have some neat pictures, but I forgot to bring the cable to download them...so just wait and see!

My goofy kid
Olivia is such a goof ball. Here are some of her antics of late. She makes this face which I can't seem to capture on film. It is a scowl of sorts; her bottom lip juts out and she furrows her brow and looks up at you in a state of disdain. She uses it when you tell her to stop doing something she doesn't want to stop. Or sometimes she uses it when she wants you to laugh. She is a ham! Also when napping she's started pulling her self up to the bookcases next to her crib. She grabs handfuls of books and then 'reads herself to sleep.' It is such a sight. She's also been really into shoes. Any pair we leave lying around promptly get put on her feet! She walks in them!!! And to top it all off, she's discovered the fine art of a tantrum. She throws herself on the floor and screams and cries when she doesn't get her way. We just walk away and she stops. Here are some funny picts from the last couple weeks:
