We only had Jase and Ian for a few hours today, but they had a great time together anyway. We had a quick rainstorm and the older kids decided to run around outside. They were soaked by the end. Grandma Lil came over for a few minutes and Ian sat with her while she scratched his back. They asked for a snack, and Ian was super specific, "I want a apple cut up and in a bowl." We had cut up apples and crackers, and they ate really well. Grandma Joani and Bapa came to take them to crafts at Heidi's. The boys have been really well behaved, but they miss their mom and dad!

Cousin Fun, Part 2
Then we rode the potty train to the bathroom. (I figure if I have to remind Sophie, we can all just go together.) The boys went together, then Sophie shut the door for privacy. Such a huge difference between boys and girls!
Then we all washed hands together.
Finally early morning movie time so Olivia can nap without constant interruptions. I'd love if
We'll go to the pool soon, but I think it will be just us 'cause Heidi's sister is in town and I'm sure they'd like to visit. I can tell that Ian misses his mom, he gets a little sad. While watching the first part of our movie, Ian snuggled with me and then he felt better and we played a little tickle torture, mostly using the force. I was across the room and just wiggled my fingers and he would ball up and laugh.
Cousin Fun: Part 1
So far we have had a good time. Jase and Ian are well behaved, Sophie is a bit bossy, but she has started to control herself after a time out.
First we played outside, lots of car driving and riding.

Then we colored. Well, Ian Grandma Lil, and Sophie colored while
Jason did mazes, and Olivia ate a snack.

Memories from this year
I was just going through our old pictures today and found a few from October of the girls. They have grown up so much this year! We took some family pictures today, and both girls were awesome. They smiled and looked at the camera! We are excited to have Ian and Jason around this week. And I plan to post some pictures and updates of our cousin adventures.

Busy Day!
Today was very busy. I don't know why, we didn't really have any plans. We spent the whole day at Grandmas, she had a bad day today, but we hope tomorrow will be be better. I got lots of stuff done, and I just got a chance to get to my computer because the sun went down. (I was pulling weeds YUCK) Anyway, I don't know if Matt got his internet running yet, but I will post anyway.
Miss you Matt, see you Sat. These were taken of the girls in the backyard earlier in the week, but look at how cute they are!

Banana Bread
Yum,
Mom is having coffee at her house tomorrow morning and I just made banana bread for her friends. It is yummy smelling and I want to cut a piece for myself, you know just to make sure it is not contaminated or something. I am a pastry junky. If I lived next to a bakery, or any shop that sold fresh breads, I would weigh over 400lbs...I can't help myself. But this bread is not for me. M u s t w a i t . . . . w i l l p o w e r i s f a d i n g.........
I know I'm going back in time, but I thought that I'd include some pictures of Mom's hospital stay. This is on Friday, about four hours after her surgery. Grandpa got to read to his granddaughters while Grandma slept off the drug induced coma. Apparently the first thing out of Mom's mouth was, "How does my hair look?"

Mom's Back Surgery
Mom's back surgery was a big success. She went in Friday, and was home on Saturday. (They told her four days in the Hospital!) In true Lil form, she was walking around on Friday evening and pretty much healed, so they sent her home early. Today she got to shower for the first time, thanks Marcella, and we took some pictures of her incision. I am also including some pictures of the flowers that Terri "got" for her.

How To Play This Game of Tag: Post these rules on your blog. List: 3 joys, 3 fears, 3 goals, 3 current obsessions/collections, 3 random surprising facts about yourself. Tag 5 people at the end of your post by leaving their names.
JOYS (only three?)
1. Hugging my girls & seeing them after being away (even for a few minutes).
2. Spending time alone...strange I know, especially after my #1.
3. Getting up early and going on a run or doing yoga while watching the sunrise.
FEARS
1. TIE: Throwing-up or being in a tornado.
2. Not being in control
3. Losing someone.
GOALS
1. To be a good mom/wife/daughter/sister.
2. To give my yoga students what they need in my yoga classes.
3. To help develop something in science that is useful.
CURRENT OBSESSIONS/COLLECTIONS
1. Blogging.
2. Sweeping the floor and vacuuming every day. (Crawling baby, plus I'm a little obsessive compulsive.)
3. Finding ways to be a "green" family. (Taking the bus to work, buying organic products etc...)
RANDOM FACTS ABOUT ME
1. I love to eat onions, bananas, and avocados, but I am allergic to all three.
2. I prefer the ocean over the mountains.
3. I am really lazy.
I CHOOSE TO NOT TAG THE FOLLOWING PEOPLE
1 I am not tagging anyone, because the only two people I know are already doing this.

Scrunchy Face

Tonight we had dinner at Mom & Dad's, nothing fancy just spending some time together. After dinner we all sat around the dinner table and were laughing at this new trick of Olivia's. She scrunches up her face and breaths in and out really quickly. We think that she started this because Grandma does a silly face to her. Anyway, she knows that we all think it is hilarious so she does it to get big laughs. This isn't the greatest photo, nothing like Terri's new camera, but it does a pretty good job of showing her silly scrunchy face.

Upside down Daddy
Our trip to the Zoo
This weekend Matt had a Credit Union conference in ABQ. We got to piggyback his hotel and stay at the Embassy Suites in ABQ, and I must say, it was wonderful. We normally use the Marriott Residence Inns whenever we travel, but after that experience we are switching. Sophie kept calling it a "jungle" inside. Not only was it beautiful, but everyone was so courteous.
The rooms were suites, Sophie slept on the pull out sofa, and they had a miniature, but real crib for Olivia. I never appreiciated what a great traveler Sophie was until this weekend. Let me put it this way, at night Olivia was either crying or nursing, and during the day she was either sleeping, eating or fussing. Thank you Sophie for being such an easy baby, and a great vacation taker!
On Friday, Sophie, Olivia and I went to the Rio Grande Zoo while Matt was in classes. We had a great time. Sophie's favorite part was the seals/sea lions, We visited them three times! Olivia really didn't care about any of it yet, but she had a great stroller ride( aka...nap.) We also enjoyed all the big cats, and Sophie even made friends with a peacock.

That evening we went out to Scalo Northern Italian Grill on Central. Anyone who knows me, knows I love Italian food, but it is a terrible problem for me because I am allergic to Onions. Anyway, I was asking the waitress to find if there were any items on the menu w/o onions, if not I'd just order a salad sans salad dressing. She came back to tell me that the Chef would make any of the pasta sauces w/o onions! I was in Heaven. Not only did I get to enjoy some yummy spinach linguine with a tomato sauce, roasted pine nuts, and sun roasted tomatoes, I did not get sick. Not once little belly pain, or swollen throat/tongue. Woo Hoo. I am going back there as often as I can.

Bababab pbtttttt...
Olivia has finally started making consonant sounds. Her favorite is bababa. She does say "Hello" and "Hi" when someone new comes around, but that's it so far. Unfortunately the only camera nearby was Matt's and the sound on his videos is terrible. But, if you get a chance to turn it up and tune out the static, you can hear her cute baby noises.
Butterfly viewing
Sophie was playing in Grandma Lil's garden today and found a butterfly. In Kindergarten Sophie's class observed a metamorphosis (not Mattamorphasis) from cocoon to Monarch. Sophie saw a Fluted Swallowtails, and as a budding scientist, she observed this as well and almost touched it. Grandma snapped a few photos of this little experiment and then a beauty shot. Let's face it; it's hard not to get beauty shots of her.
Disclosure: No insects were harmed in the execution of this experiment.
